+ What is a BarCamp?
BarCamps are informal, collective "speaker's corner" meetings on
digital media and software, and made up of presentations by
practitioners. The format is mostly identical to that of Hack
Meetings: There are no previously scheduled talks or presentations,
but participants sign up their presentations on a paper schedule upon
arrival at the BarCamp location.

+ What will happen at the Rotterdam BarCamp?
This depends on you and an interesting mix of participants!
The topic, Open Source media, encompasses a lot: open source media
technologies from web design with free content management systems to
audio and video editing on Linux, broadcasting with free software, but
also: open content and open source media activism, music and arts;
whatever is an artistic, technological and philosophical alternative
to proprietary media technology and distribution. If you are working
in this field, please come and tell something about it. WORM and Piet
Zwart people, for example, plan to speak about video editing with
Cinelerra and open source audio/video streaming.
+ What is available for your presentations?
There will be three places equipped with beamers (two of them also
with speakers) and wireless networking in the WORM cinema, concert and
bar areas. If necessary, we can set up additional smaller speaker's
corners with conventional monitors instead of beamers. (Disclaimer:
We only have ADSL internet at WORM, so bear with the bandwidth.)
+ Why only one night?
This will be the first BarCamp in Rotterdam. We'll have a compact and
dense event this time and see whether in the future, more extensive
BarCamps will be needed. - For those who need to a place to crash
overnight, a limited amount of private accommodation will be available
